- A survey of recently published cardiovascular, hematological and pneumological original articles in the Brazilian scientific press (Retracted article. See vol. 68, pg. 1383, 2013)(2011) PATEL, Kavita Kirankumar; CARAMELLI, Bruno; GOMES, ArianeRecent original scientific contributions published in selected Brazilian periodicals and classifiable under cardiovascular and pulmonary subject categories cover a wide range of sub specialties, both clinical and exprimental. Because they appear in journals with only recently enhanced visibility, we have decided to highlight a number of specific items appeared in four Brazilian journals, because we understand that this is an important subsidy to keep our readership adequately informed. These papers cover extensive sub-areas in both fields.
- A review of recent pediatric research published in Brazilian indexed journals(2012) ROCHA-E-SILVA, Mauricio; GOMES, Ariane MarisThis review surveys articles appertaining to the general field of pediatrics that have been published in Brazilian scientific periodicals over recent years. Its main purpose was to bring to the attention of the readership of the Sao Paulo Medical Journal original contributions from specialty and non-specialty journals. We hope that this can be seen as a general scientific update for the readers. We have covered articles appearing in Brazilian ISI-indexed journals, following a PubMed search.
- A SURVEY OF RECENTLY PUBLISHED PAPERS ON ORTHOPEDICS IN THE BRAZILIAN SCIENTIFIC PRESS(2012) ROCHA-E-SILVA, Mauricio; GOMES, Ariane MarisThis paper is a review of articles published in Brazilian scientific periodicals in recent years. Its main purpose is to bring to the attention of the readership of Acta Ortopedica Brasileira original contributions to the field published in non-specialized journals. We hope that this will serve as a general scientific update for readers. The review includes works published in six ISI indexed non-orthopedic journals, following a literature search conducted in fourteen such journals.
- EXERCISE AND ITS INTERACTIONS WITH VARIOUS ASPECTS OF MAN AND ANIMAL LIVES(2012) GOMES, Ariane Maris; ROCHA-E-SILVA, MauricioTo review recently published papers in the Brazilian Scientific press on the general subject of physical exercise. All articles published in 2010/2011 found through the keyword exercise were collected from 11 Brazilian Journals. They were hand filtered to exclude all but original research papers. They were grouped according to subject categories and subcategories. A brief summary of all included articles was produced, comparing similar articles between them. The most commonly found interactions refer to exercise vs. the cardiovascular system, metabolism and the locomotor system, in this order. The volume of scientific research in the field is high and of sufficient quality to justify highlighting.
- Pulmonary research recently published in Brazilian journals(2012) GOMES, Ariane Maris; HIGA, Daniela AquemiWe reviewed original articles in the field of pulmonary medicine that had been recently published in 12 Brazilian journals-general or specialty journals-excluding the Brazilian Journal of Pulmonology. All were journals indexed for the Institute for Scientific Information Web of Knowledge. The selection of articles was based on the ""continuously variable rating"" concept. We have organized the articles by category.
- An overview of recently published medical papers in Brazilian scientific journals (Retracted article. See vol. 68, pg. 1382, 2013)(2011) SILVA, Mauricio Rocha e; GOMES, ArianeA brief review intended as information to the readership of Clinics on papers recently published under various medical headings in Brazilian scientific journals recently indexed or about to be indexed in ISI-THOMSON Journal Citation Reports. Journals covered in this review are Acta Ortopedica Brasileira, Arquivos Brasileiros de Cardiologia, Jornal Brasileiro de Pneumologia, Revista Brasileira de Cirurgia Cardiovascular and Revista da Associacao Medica Brasileira.
