Oral squamous cell carcinoma is the most common malignant epithelial neoplasm affecting the oral cavity, accounting for more than 90% of cases. Most patients smoke tobacco, drink alcohol, or both. Since the time of diagnosis is the most important prognostic factor for the patient’s affected, this chapter overviews the essential clinical aspects of oral squamous cell carcinoma, highlighting clinical presentations, diagnosis guidelines, and therapeutic approaches. © The Editor(s) (if applicable) and The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG 2023.
