Abstract: Data capture process is an important step in health care research, but it often receives little attention on research design number of flaws. To the best of our knowledge, no previous studies have developed standards that would allow for the comparison of workflow models of clinical and research activities and the improvement of the data collection process. In the present study we developed workflow models for a translational research study in psychiatry and for the clinic where it was implemented. Models were used for workflow comparison and identification of dissonances between both, qualitative standards and a corresponding taxonomy arose and workflow re-engineering was proposed and implemented.
