Examples include chronic musculoskeletal disorders, and the most prevalent ones are osteoarthritis and low back pain. Osteoarthritis is an important cause of pain and disability among patients. Chronic low back pain, in turn, affects 80% of the population at least in some period of life. As the prevalence of these diseases tends to grow, they constitute a public health issue worldwide. In this scenario, thermography arises as a method that can provide a better understanding of these diseases. Hence, this chapter discusses the distribution of body temperature in these diseases, as well as the pathophysiology regarding body temperature and its relationship with pain. © 2023 Nova Science Publishers, Inc.
