This is a case study of the Psychosocial Care Center (CAPS type III) from the interior of São Paulo regarding the perception of health workers about their work, according to (i) professional empathy, (ii) forms of collective work, (iii) collective decision mechanisms and (iv) negotiation of collective labor rules. The analysis of results was done using the theory of “work psychodynamics”. The ambivalences of care experienced by workers in the construction of collective rules and in the development of empathy and professional cooperation constitute the institutional constraints, resulting from the reintroduction of a neoliberal model in the management of the mental health service.

Estudo do trabalho em Núcleos de Apoio à Saúde da Família (NASF), São Paulo, Brasil
(2015) GONÇALVES, Rita Maria de Abreu; LANCMAN, Selma; SZNELWAR, Laerte Idal; CORDONE, Nicole Guimarães; BARROS, Juliana de Oliveira
Objective: the purpose was to identify the key tasks performed at two Family Health Support Centers (NASF) in São Paulo city, Brazil, and to understand how their professionals performed their activities to achieve their goals. Methods: this case study was inspired by the Activity Ergonomics and the method of Ergonomic Work Analysis (EWA). Results: The findings show that the work at the NASF is characterized by variable tasks that are shared among the teams involved. Different organizational arrangements are adopted according to available resources as meeting space, participation in committees and groups, as well subgroups to represent the Center in these spaces. Productivity indicators used did not contemplate the tasks specificity. The financial and material resources are scarce to perform the tasks. Conclusions: the NASF and the Family Health Team have to work together; however, there are significant differences that interfere with this partnership: priorities, work instruments, and management and activity models. The results demonstrate potentialities and challenges faced in the daily work and enable deeper knowledge on the reality of actions implementation related to public policies on primary health care.

PURPOSE: Identify, using elementary school teacher's reports, which conditions could affect, directly or indirectly, the vocal performance of these professionals, taking in account their work conditions. METHODS: Research conducted with eight female teachers from São Paulo city public education system that participate in a focal group during five sessions. Triggers themes like the role of the teacher at the present time, violence and the teacher’s health were used. Sessions were recorded and transcribed. Content was analyzed and organized in categories and subcategories into four main themes: voice, work, violence and the inclusion of students with disabilities. RESULTS: Teachers reported the need to speak frequently in order to: guarantee attention and results from work; elaborate behavioral and attitudinal issues; solve and negotiate daily conflicts; manage violence in classroom; control situations; calm down the students. Apart from the class itself, there is intense and continuous voice use. Screaming and loud talking were related to the need to overcome internal and external noises; the number of students; exert immediate control over an eventuality. The disorganization of the routine (constant interruptions) overloads teachers both mentally and physically. The inclusion of students with disabilities contributes to this problem. CONCLUSION: New regulation of the educational policies restructured the teacher’s labor, leading to an overload and hardening of the classroom work, undermining working conditions and interfering in your organization. Teacher is asked daily to an intense voice use to solve various situations - in addition to delivering the lesson - without possibility of resting and in adverse conditions that cause body and mind illness.

A cooperação como instrumento de enfrentamento do real: o caso dos magistrados do trabalho no Brasil
(2019) GIANNINI, Ruri; SZNELWAR, Laerte Idal; UCHIDA, Seiji; LANCMAN, Selma
Cooperation is a fundamental part of the construction of the workers' mental health and an essential pillar for building a work environment where there are trust at work. The objective of this paper is debating the formal and the informal cooperation networks which exist in the work of labor judges and the impacts they exert in facing the real work. Although the formal evaluation methods of judges are basically quantitative and individualist and there are no institutional mechanisms which reinforce the peer-to-peer exchanges and value the return of experience, we can observe the creation of cooperation networks within peers. This paper is part of the research “Constructing intersectorality in the field of occupational health: Perspective of Professionals in the Services Network of the City of São Paulo"", sponsored by FAPESP. The methodology is based on the concepts of Psychodynamics of Work.

(2013) DALDON, Maria Teresa Bruni; LANCMAN, Selma
In the current labor context, it is essential that Worker's Health Surveillance can promote workers' health and prevent work related diseases and accidents by means of research, analysis and intervention on the processes, work environments, organizations and labor relations. The objective of this essay is to bethink workers' health surveillance process, particularly in the city of São Paulo. Based on literature review and documental analysis, we discuss the current flow and the impediments of the Brazilian Unified Health System (SUS) actions concerning workers' health surveillance, approaching the gap between theoretical knowledge, its understanding and applicability. We start by a historical and conceptual retrospective of the Worker's Health subject. Then, we analyze the Brazilian governmental policies on Worker's Health Surveillance as well as the concepts of Health Surveillance and Worker's Health Surveillance, considering perspectives of different authors on Surveillance of Worker's Health. We conclude by pointing at the need of re-qualifying the Brazilian public health organizational structure, including the qualitative indicators of the actions impact, taking into account the different work processes and the diversity of needs in each of SUS' Worker's Health services.

(2019) LANCMAN, Selma; SATO, Andrea Toshye; HEIN, Daniele Tatiane; BARROS, Juliana de Oliveira
Abstract Introduction: since 2014, the pharmacy division (PD) of a university hospital has faced the ongoing precariousness of their work process due to a political-financial crisis. Seeking to overcome conflicts arising from such precariousness, pharmacists requested an action in psychodynamics of work from a team of researchers of the university. Objectives: to create opportunities for reflection and discussion meetings with the pharmacists; to make a diagnosis on the organizational and relational working conditions in the PD; and to promote actions to transform the context. Methods: from the reflection groups, the psychodynamics of work action was organized according to classic theoretical-methodological principles: demand analysis; clinical observation; analysis of the material produced during the sessions; interpretation; report writing, and its validation. Results: precariousness impacted the pharmacists’ and PD´s work, generating insecurity about their professional future, difficulty in cooperation, feelings of non-recognition of their work and the need to re-adapt the activities. Conclusion: the action in psychodynamics of work allowed greater dialogue among pharmacists and the re-appropriation of the work held by the PD, favoring the search for strategies to overcome the relational conflicts and difficulties encountered in their daily life in order to face the experienced moment.
